The accident happened on the E4 at Trafikplats Gröndal in the direction of Södertälje in Stockholm shortly before 4pm on Saturday.
SOS Alarm encourages road users to choose another road, if possible.
– It’s a series collision heading south. Seven cars implicated according to initial reports. We’re on our way to the scene, says Ola Österling at the Stockholm police shortly after 4pm.
The police have information that a person is injured.
The rescue service has hit the road and says there are probably no serious injuries.
However, there have quickly been long lines at the site.
– Three out of four lanes are closed, so there will be queues. I don’t know how long we will stay on the site, says Jonas Fröjmark.
