He had first booked a ticket with Norwegian, but was informed that the flight had already been canceled several weeks ago. Then he rebooked SAS. When he got to the gate on Monday, he thought the trip home was insured, but then he received a text message saying the flight had been canceled.

– It feels heavy, it’s a lot of frustration. Looks like I’m not coming home, I doubt there’s any chance. Everything seems to be ready, this flight was my last hope.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson held a press conference on Monday night after more than 40 countries banned flights from the UK for fear of the new strain of the virus, which may be up to 70 percent more contagious.
– There is nothing to indicate that this new variant is more dangerous, he says.
Johnson is backed by the government’s top scientific adviser, Patrick Vallance, who says they expect to learn more about the new variant of the virus in the coming weeks. At the same time, it highlights the importance of the British following the recommendations.
