The girl’s head was found in a suitcase in a closet in Tishko Ahmed’s apartment, but her body was never found.
The district court ruling was appealed and hearings in the Court of Appeal began on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the 23-year-old’s lawyer, Beatrice Rämsell, presented her evidence of the man’s innocence. The defense believes that Ahmed should be fully freed from the murder.
He said, among other things, that the cause of death could not be determined and that the crime scene investigation is unreliable, P4 Väst reports. Rämsell also said that the witnesses were affected by the media reports and were therefore unreliable.
According to the radio, the lawyer believes that the district court mixed the crimes, murders and violations of public order.
– We think the district court went wrong. It is easy to do. The question of what happened to the body after death must be assessed separately, and the question of how Wilma died must be judged separately, said lawyer Beatrice Rämsell, states P4 Väst.

He also stressed that not all the material had been sampled by the National Forensic Center and that there could be traces of people other than Tishko Ahmed, the radio reports.
When prosecutor Jim Westerberg commented on the defense’s attitude on Wednesday, he said he was having difficulty seeing that the Court of Appeal would make a different assessment than the one the district court did.
– The verdict is well written and there is strong evidence, so it is difficult to believe another assessment. But it remains to be seen, Westerberg said.
At the end of the hearings on Thursday, Beatrice Rämsell surprisingly announced that Tishko Ahmed himself wants to speak in court.
He will do so on one of the last two days of the trial, on October 5 or 8.

The points in the defense appeal
The cause of death. The defense notes that the prosecution has not been able to highlight the manner in which Wilma Andersson was killed. “In our opinion, the murder charge should already be dismissed here because we don’t really know why or how the plaintiffs died,” he says on appeal.
The body. “One has to wonder if it is practically possible to move a body that lacks at least one part of the body and that should reasonably filter some body fluids without leaving the slightest trace and without anyone making any observations about it,” he says. than on appeal.

The prosecutor. Among other things, the defense criticizes the way prosecutor Jim Westerberg handles evidence. “The prosecutor has consistently chosen to report only on the material and circumstances that speak against Tishko. This has happened most of the time,” he says in the appeal.
The news media. The defense criticizes the fact that the media has been allowed to report on the trial in real time. “In this way, it has been possible to hear the testimony of the witnesses at approximately the same time they were recorded,” says the appeal. The defense believes that the media information allowed the witnesses to follow what happened and then be able to adapt their stories.
