According to information from GT, several schools in Gothenburg have received serious threats and that the police have all the institutions under surveillance.
Bo Drysén admits that there has been a threat related to the schools on Instagram and that now they should have a meeting about the situation.
Mikael O Karlsson, COO of Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet, also confirms the information.
– There is such an Instagram message circulating, it seems that someone picked it up, cut it and pasted it.
You have performed identity checks
During the day, the Hvitfeldtska Gym conducts ID checks due to the threat. Also, the police are in the zone to circulate.
– We have also ordered guards, but they have not yet appeared, says Mikael O Karlsson.
Do you take this seriously?
– Yes, we must take it seriously based on the fact that it has to be done with everything. There is a difference, we have no record that it would finance a threat against us.
On Sunday morning a post was posted on Instagram announcing that the students of the ISGR school in Landala (International School of Gothenburg Region) will be killed. According to the threat, knives would be taken to school.
Students stay home there on Monday.
– Distance learning will be taught to students, digitally. We have the infrastructure for that due to the pandemic. Also, on the advice of the police, we hired guards who are on the school grounds on Monday, Birgitta Sandström Barac, the school’s executive director and principal, said Sunday night.
Investigated as an illegal threat to a group
Police spokesman Hans-Jörgen Ostler says he is unaware of the new threats, but that police are in the area.
– In connection with this incident (the threat on Sunday), there have been disturbances in nearby schools, so we are looking for measures to create security, he says.
The police have also taken the threat seriously and have a preliminary investigation entitled Illegal Threats Against a Group.
– We take the threat seriously and work tirelessly to arrest a responsible perpetrator. At present, the police do not believe that there is any risk of the threat being carried out. We don’t think that everyone should worry about going to school, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler.
