The decrease in cancer diagnoses last year was 9.3 percent. But there is no indication that cancer cases have actually decreased. It is rather the case that many more cancers go undetected. For prostate cancer, the number of detected cases has decreased by as much as 20 percent.
– I think we will see a certain increase in mortality from some of the cancers. But I think it is too early to say exactly how many people it is, Johan Ahlgren, operations manager of the Central Swedish Regional Cancer Center, tells SVT.
