At 3 in the afternoon, the demonstrations began in various places in France. A silent march was held in Lyon, where more than 6,000 residents participated to honor the memory of 47-year-old teacher Samuel Paty. Informs Le Parisien.
Samuel Paty was beheaded in the French municipality of Conflans Saint-Honorine on Friday. The murder is being investigated as an act of terrorism.
Eleven fists
The day before the event, Samuel Paty had shown a photo of the prophet Muhammad, when he gave a lecture on freedom of expression and mentioned the terrorist attack on the Charlie Hebdo newspaper in 2015. After the lesson, several parents of the students reacted and he received various death threats.
Eleven people have been arrested in connection with the murder. The alleged perpetrator, Abdullakh Anzorov, is 18 years old and, according to the prosecutor, must have gone to the school where Samuel Paty taught and asked the students to point to Paty.

The demonstrations, which began on Saturday, are carried out under the slogan “Je suis enseignant”. “I’m a teacher”.

Hard crown affected
The crowds come at the same time that France suffers more and more crown falls.
On Saturday, more than 32,000 new confirmed cases were reported, and in Paris and several other cities, curfews were imposed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. every night.
In total, more than 33,000 people have died from the virus in the country.
