Today, the following tips were introduced for the Västra Götaland region.
• Refrain from staying in closed environments such as stores, shopping centers, museums, libraries, bathrooms, and gyms. Visits to, for example, supermarkets and pharmacies can be made.
• Refrain from participating, for example, in meetings, concerts, performances, sports training, matches and competitions. However, this does not apply to sports training for children and youth born in 2005 or later.
• If possible, avoid having physical contact with people other than those you live with. This means, among other things, discouraging organizing or participating in a party or similar social gathering.
It’s part of the Public Health Agency’s strategy for the fall, says Filip Persson, GP news reporter.
– So they saw the risk of local outbreaks and thought it would be more effective to target individual regions than national ones, says Filip Persson.
New national councils can be added
But according to state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell, it may be relevant with the new national guidelines if the general council of the regions does not bear fruit.
– It depends on the development. If more and more regions have the same development, it is already difficult to blame the regions, says Filip Persson.
Home settings, parties, and other large crowds stand out as the largest platforms for the spread of infection.
– But public transportation and restaurants have not received additional directives today. General tips, guidelines and recommendations already exist, says Filip Persson.
E-commerce can be a big winner
Instead, what is affected are shopping malls and stores. Something that has a strong impact on trade in the area.
– Nordstan encourages people to come at other times, for example before lunch or after 6pm. Reasonably, this means a real loss for the mall and the shops, says Valdemar Lönnroth, GP financial reporter.
However, e-commerce is expected to take another boost.
– It is increasing, we are already digitized in Scandinavia but e-commerce has received a real boost during the pandemic and we can expect them to get another new momentum now. Those who are not on that train will be the big losers, says Valdemar Lönnroth.
The Governor of Västra Götaland, Anders Danielsson, announced today that the number of spectators and participants will remain 50, and not 300 as the government decided last week.

This is how culture and sport are affected
It affects the culture and entertainment industry, including the Gothenburg Opera.
– It is not very clear how they will continue, the management team is in meetings now. But they probably want to drive with 50 people in the audience, says Carl Moberg, a GP cultural reporter.
– But of course, it’s quite small compared to the gigantic opera stage …
Sports are also affected. All 15+ sports are encouraged to cancel all activities immediately.
– It is a mixture of disappointment and understanding among the special sports federations that we have had time to talk to, says GP sports reporter Joel Tivemo.
– Indoor sports have had time to get off to a good start and they hoped that we would now return to everyday life in some way But of course they thought the message was very harsh.
Joel Tivemo, however, believes that the message was received with great understanding.
– I still think that you can applaud that understanding of those with whom we spoke.
Professional sports will be able to continue practicing training activities since they are professionals.
– It is the great grassroots sport, which affects our public health, which is affected here. What that means in the long run is hard to say at this point, says Joel Tivemo.
