“Unfortunately, we have had a death in a special place,” says Bengt Wittesjö, infection control physician in the Blekinge Region.
In total, three people died from covid-19 in the county.
The woman who died was 70 years old and lived in a special place in the Karlskrona municipality.
– He got sick quickly and died in the hospital. The woman tested positive for covid-19 the day before. We don’t know how he got infected, says Bengt Wittesjö.
In total, there are four coronavirus cases that are linked to a special home in Blekinge. Three cases in Karlskrona and one in Sölvesborg.
“It is a fall in every home so we don’t see any spread,” says Bengt Wittesjö.
At Blekinge, there are now 93 confirmed cases of the coronavirus; yesterday that number was 89 cases.
– The new cases are related to the sampling of personnel in medical care, says Bengt Wittesjö.
A person is being treated at the covid-19 hospital.
– That patient is cared for in a regular ward, says Bengt Wittesjö.

– It’s still quiet in Blekinge.
The Blekinge region will increase sampling next week.
