Police were able to arrest the suspect late last year after internet reconnaissance. The investigation has grown after the plaintiff could be identified in the material found on the man.
According to the prosecutor, the man persuaded the plaintiffs to send photos through social media.
– Since then, the police have tried to identify the applicants and have subsequently produced new reports. We have also resumed older cases that have been closed but are connected to the case through a username or procedure, prosecutor Ylva Lundgren says in a press release.
The police investigation has mainly consisted of identifying the applicants from the films and photographs that were found.
– A total of 83 interrogations of applicants have been carried out, of which 51 with children and 32 with young people. Some of them have not wanted to participate and in other cases there has been insufficient evidence, but some 70 plaintiffs are included in the indictment, says Maria Gustafsson, who was the leader of the child questioning in the investigation in a press release.
Many criminal classifications
The man has now been indicted in Skaraborg District Court on suspicion of exploitation of children for sexual poses, aggravated exploitation of children for sexual poses and attempted such crimes, rape of children, sexual harassment, child pornography offenses, attempted to Aggravated coercion and abusive photography and incitement.
There are about 70 plaintiffs in the case, most of the girls who were between the ages of 10 and 17 when they were exposed to the crime.
– The victims have been exposed in many cases to serious crimes and they are very young. Many have felt very bad, prosecutor Ylva Lundgren says in the press release.
The man has admitted during interrogation several of the crimes he faces.
That is a comprehensive goal. The trial in Skaraborg District Court is estimated to last nine weeks.
