“Coronavirus” was what the majority of Swedes searched on Google so far this year.
Unsurprisingly, it also dominates searches that start with the word “how”, such as “How is coronavirus spread?”
– Google searches related to Covid-19 permeate almost every search category this year, says Andrea Lewis Åkerman, communications manager for Google Sweden in a press release.
That we’ve been mainly indoors has also been seen through more baking searches, according to Google. After hand alcohol, blueberry pie and sourdough bread are the most sought after recipes in 2020.
Estonia, Skandiamannen and Kobe Bryant
But it was not just the crown.
The choice in the United States ranks second among the most fashionable searches of the year. But also Palme’s investigation with the information on Skandiamannen in June, and the disaster in Estonia after the acclaimed Dplay documentary has again interested the Swedes.
After the death of media profile and presenter Adam Alsing in April, the Swedes have also wanted to know more about basketball legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in January.
The Swedish Netflix series Love and Anarchy tops the entertainment chart. Second is the mobile and computer game Among us, which involves figuring out who is the “cheater” on a spaceship.
