The last three mile women’s race has a classic style and is a massive start.
It is a model that benefits a skier like Linn Svahn.
She is good at keeping up and if she manages to be with us towards the end, not many can beat her in the sprint.
But a mild illness stops Svahn, who has otherwise been one of the cyclists for the three miles.
– She is not terminally ill. Linn has been a bit uncomfortable the last few days and is not healthy enough to compete, says national team manager Anders Byström.
Linn Svahn came to the WC as a big favorite in the individual sprint, but the start of the championship was not at all what Svahn or the leadership of the national team expected.
Svahn did not reach the final.
That it was the shoulder injury from the Ulricehamn case that tormented both her and the leaders denied.
The failure of the sprint disqualified Svahn from the sprint relay, a relay in which Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist took home the gold.
Svahn also did not get a place in the quartet that earned the confidence of ten kilometers.
