In Pfizer’s first delivery, Sweden received almost 10,000 doses of corona vaccine to distribute among the regions. 425 of these have been allocated to the Västra Götaland region and will be offered to people living in special housing in the city of Gothenburg, starting Sunday. Report P4 West.

– It feels great. It’s great fun that we have the vaccine in Sweden now and that we can see it coming out very soon to the most fragile in our region, says Kristine Rygge, vaccine coordinator at VGR, to P4.

A total of 22,000 people live in special housing in VGR. Each person will be offered two doses at three week intervals.

People in risk group on tour

The groups that follow online are:

• People who belong to a risk group and have municipal care at home.

• Adult relatives of people in the first two groups.

• Municipal care and nursing staff.

Previously, the region had not been able to specify an exact date for the start of vaccination, but in mid-December, the region confirmed in a press release that the first vaccination against covid-19 would take place “around December 28” .

Another delivery

Over the next week, there will probably be another dose delivery, Kristine Rygge tells P4.

– We expect a delivery also for week 53 at the beginning of the week and then we have a plan for which municipalities we can go ahead.

You do not want to enter exactly which municipalities it is.

– The expectation is that we will have been in most of the municipalities in week 53, he says.
