The uprising against Trump from their own ranks

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is highly critical of Trump’s campaign actions after the election.

“It is outrageous to try to pressure state election authorities to change the election results in any way,” Larry Hogan told CNN.

He believes that what is happening now is putting the entire United States in a bad position.

– We used to monitor elections around the world and be the most respected country when it comes to elections. But this makes us look like a banana republic. This is bullshit that must end, it gets weirder with each passing day. It’s embarrassing that there aren’t more people in the party talking about it, says Larry Hogan.

When Trump later criticized Hogan on Twitter, the governor responded:

“Stop playing golf and admit defeat.”

Chris Christie: “A national disgrace”

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who was the first Republican governor to support Trump during the 2016 election campaign, was interviewed this weekend by ABC about the suites after the election.

– Honestly, the behavior of Trump’s legal group has been a national disgrace, says Chris Christie.

He says he has seen no evidence of the Trump campaign’s widespread election fraud allegations.

– I’ve been one of the president’s supporters. I voted for him twice. But elections have consequences and we cannot continue to act as if something that didn’t really happen does happen, says Chris Christie.

“President Trump should accept the election results”

Pennsylvania Republican Senator Pat Toomey congratulated Joe Biden on his election victory this weekend after a judge threw out the Trump campaign vote on the state ballot.

“President Trump should accept the outcome of the elections and facilitate the transition process”, Toomey wrote in a press release.

Three other Republican senators have recognized Biden as the winner. These are Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Susan Collins (Maine) and Ben Sasse (Nebraska). North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer told NBC that “it’s time to start the transition.”

Republican Senators John Cornyn (Texas), Marco Rubio (Florida) and James Risch (Idaho) say they expect Joe Biden to be sworn in as President of the United States on January 20.
