It was Saturday morning that the stray Archie finally dared to step into the trap set up near where he disappeared. After wandering freely in the mountains for several weeks, the story had a happy ending, thanks in part to Barbara Lindell in Gothenburg, who has been in constant contact with the rescue team in Gällivare and has given advice on how to proceed.
– A trap with fresh food went out since Tuesday near the place where Archie disappeared. I also contacted the dog’s owner in Italy, who sent audio files calling the dog and audio files with Archie’s dog friends, says Barbara Lindell.

She says that Archie, who is one and a half years old, could be seen moving around the trap during the night and finally dared to enter it on Saturday morning.
– Actually, the trap was a bit small, but luckily it still worked.
Goes wild fast
According to Barbara Lindell, dogs quickly go wild when they are on the run. It doesn’t take them more than a few days and they go into survival mode and become very shy. So for example invocation doesn’t work.
They have an incredible ability to survive, but they quickly revert to their old selves when they return home, she says.
Right now, Archie is at the vet with the team that captured him.
– He is quite thin but if he is otherwise well, he will have to live temporarily in an emergency house with Johanna who caught him. After that, you will have a host family in Sweden according to the wishes of the owner, who cannot come and pick you up. The cause is related to the crown, according to Barbara Lindell, who has been in contact with him.
