The number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 has almost doubled in a week. Now regional councilor Gilbert Tribo (left) asks the people of Skåne to drink moderately: “Because we release certain restrictions when we drink alcohol.”
Gilbert Tribo (left), Chairman of the Skåne Region Health and Medical Care Committee, believes that lower alcohol intake can make Skåne people better remember distance advice.
The spread of covid-19 is increasing in Skåne. At the end of last week, 21 people with Covid-19 were treated at the hospital, two of whom received intensive care.
That number is 40 on Sunday, of which 5 are in intensive care, according to Gilbert Tribo (left), chairman of the health and medical care committee.
– It’s worrying. If it continues like this, we will have a huge burden on future healthcare. But I have high hopes that people will take on more responsibilities, says Gilbert Tribo, who receives the latest figures from the regional director daily.
According to him, these are new patients who became infected and then sought care, not internal infections between patients in hospitals. If the increase continues, Gilbert Tribo believes it may be relevant to introduce stricter local restrictions in Skåne.
– It’s an alternative, but we haven’t arrived yet.
But there is one piece of advice that Gilbert Tribo wants to give the people of Skåne.
– I want to ask for a certain restriction with alcohol, because we release certain restrictions when we drink alcohol. Because everyone who has gotten drunk in the classroom knows, then we lose the remote assessment. It’s basically a huge responsibility for us to make this work, says Gilbert Tribo.
