Skiers caused two avalanches yesterday when he ran off the piste next to the Väggen piste in Hundfjället, Sälen. The mountain rescue has searched the area with a dog looking for missing persons, but according to the information, no one should be injured or missing. Now both the mountain rescue and the police advise against off-piste skiing in the area, as the danger of avalanches is considered great.
Just before 10 o’clock Yesterday, the staff of the area alerted that an avalanche had been triggered in the street of the ski lifts next to the Väggen ski slope in Hundfjället, Sälen. Later it turned out that it was two avalanches of about 10-15 meters wide and 30 and 100 meters long, respectively.
The avalanches were caused by two skiers that they crossed the barricades that marked the danger of predominant avalanche. Fortunately, none of the skiers were buried in the snow and the police have been in contact with people who have skied in connection with the avalanches, and according to them, no person should be missing or injured.

The problem is considered to be the wind that created drifting snowflakes in all areas and in Jämtland and Härjedalen there are also permanent flakes that can cause avalanches.
