Last spring and summer, an unknown rapist sowed fear among the women at Rågsved in Stockholm.
In total, there were four assaults: one rape in March, two attempted rapes thereafter, and then one rape on July 7.
Police suspected it was the same man and came out last fall with a ghost image and a sign element. Soon after, a man was arrested on suspicion of three of the crimes, but was released when the DNA did not match.
But now the real rapist may have been revealed.
“I really wanted to find it”
This is about an alleged sex offender who is arrested for kidnapping and three attempted rapes in Södermalm. He was arrested a couple of weeks ago and the suspicions in that case refer to crimes committed in October this year.
When the police took his DNA, it came across the evidence from the rape investigation in Rågsved on July 7 last year.
“We really want to find him and we have taken a lot of investigative steps,” Åsa Hansson, manager of the felony group, tells the police website.
Among other things, hundreds of men have been targeted for the serial rapist.
The detainee has been notified of suspected rape in Rågsved. It is still unknown if he may also be a suspect in other sex crimes at Rågsved 2019.
