As the country closed against the pandemic, the Dutch royal couple took the government plane to Greece on vacation. But after massive criticism, they are now going home again.

Following a sharp increase in the number of infections, the Dutch authorities sharpened their advice this week so that the population, among other things, refrain from unnecessary travel. In a televised speech, Prime Minister Mark Rutte advised the public not to “test the limits of the rules.”
Willem-Alexander and Máxima have their own villa in Greece. As early as August, they ended up in corona weather, after breaking the rules to keep their distance during a vacation in the Mediterranean country, writes the AFP news agency.
Willem-Alexander, now 53, has been the monarch of the Netherlands since 2013. She is the mother of a descendant of the 16th-century Swedish king Gustav Vasa.
