Bring better foreign judges or use VAR.
Simon Thern directed harsh criticism of the Swedish referee team after the penalty situation in the AIK penalty area.
– I think there is a lack of respect, says referee Stefan Johannesson.
2-2 on the scoreboard in Nya Parken.
Then Henok Goitom knocks down Norrköping’s Henrik Castegren in his own penalty area. However, the referee was not impressed and admonished him to dive.
– I understand Norrköping’s frustration, as it is a situation that could have been decisive in the match. But to put it that way, I think there is a lack of respect, says Stefan Johannesson, referee for the Swedish Football Association.
“Enough now”
After the match, Simon Thern from IFK Norrköping criticized the entire Swedish referee team and said the level was too low.
His suggestion was to bring better foreign judges or beginners to use VAR.
– Judges can also make mistakes, but not at this level. It takes too much to think it’s okay. It’s probably now. Most of all, I feel desperate about how this affects our lives. If we had been that bad, we would have been relegated to the junior team, Simon Thern said after the game.
“Pajasåsikter”
The head judge, who emphasizes that he understands Norrköping’s frustration, now responds to criticism.
– These are opinions of clowns. We could say a lot about the level of the players, but we never would. “I don’t think the referees are worse than the Allsvenskan players,” says Stefan Johannesson.
Is it a punishment?
– It should be a punishment. It is not more difficult than that. So I understand the frustration, but there must be some form of mutual respect.
