A psychologist in Vänersborg is criticized by Ivo. Stock Photography.
The Care and Attention Inspectorate (Ivo) criticizes a psychologist in Vänersborg for, among other things, conducting an investigation into a child without the consent of the custodians, writes Bohusläningen.
A little over a year ago, a teenager in western Sweden was investigated. The boy was considered to have a more severe intellectual disability, but according to Ivo, the research lacked sufficient evidence.
Ivo, who receives strong criticism of both the rating in Vänersborg and the psychologist, claims that the investigation was conducted in a flawed manner and that the psychologist’s statement does not follow applicable regulations. There are also deficiencies in the documentation.
The child’s father, like Ivo, believes that such a diagnosis affects the person throughout his life. The parent writes that it determines, among other things, opportunities to apply for a driver’s license and attend vocational preparatory courses and affects future contacts with health care and the authorities.
“But you are not trying to interact with NN, you are not trying to have conversations with him, to follow the usual routines for testing,” he writes in his report.
