The police were attacked in Kronogården two nights in a row.

The riots began on Sunday night, when police in the Kronogården area of Trollhättan were alerted after youths fired rockets at balconies and stairs.

When the police patrols arrived at the scene, they were also attacked with rockets. Reinforcements were called in and it took about two hours before the situation calmed down and the police remained in the area for much of the night to keep the situation calm.

The following night, the police were going to stop a car that was suspected of being stolen, the motorist did not want to stop.

“Annoyed and angry”

The police launched an alleged chase and when there was a stop, the driver and passengers fled the scene.

– People in the car managed to escape, in connection with that, people began to gather. There was a threatening atmosphere and rockets were fired at the police, said Peter Adlersson, a police spokesman in the western region.

Police Chief Miran Shwan takes the facts very seriously and already wrote a post about the police on the Trollhättan, Vänersborg and Lilla Edet Facebook page on Monday, before the events of the following night.

– In fact, I get upset and angry when you go to attack the police as you do in relation to this. What happened last night is that they attack us when we do our work. It is an attack on the legal community and the risk of personal injury to our police is imminent, said Miran Shwan, deputy director of the local police area for East Fyrbodal on Tuesday.

“Different this time”

The police officers who were targeted were not physically injured in the attacks, which Miran Shwan describes as sheer luck.

– It is fortunate that so far no one has been injured. But they find it difficult, of course, to work in such a harsh environment with risks, he says.

He continues:

– During the rocket fire that was against the police last night, we intervened against an ongoing crime, it is suspected that the car was stolen. And trying to influence the work of the police is blue light sabotage, which we have reported on.

Later on Tuesday, the Trollhättan municipal police claim that they will strengthen in the area due to the latest events, writes Ttela.

Miran Shwan describes the events of the last few nights as isolated events, but they stand out from the rest.

– This is probably quite isolated, but this is not the first time rockets have been fired in Kronogården, it’s happening a bit here and there right now. What stands out is that they shot the audience and they shot inside the stairs, this time it’s a little different. That is what we are reacting to.

Worried in December of last year

This is not the first time that there have been riots in Kronogården, there is a history over the years where there have been rocket fire at the police, security guards and the general public.

For a couple of weeks in December last year, police cars were destroyed and individual police officers were attacked. Cars were set ablaze, rockets and firecrackers were fired on the road, and homecare staff heading home with patients was close to meeting.

Damages, rape of an official and violent disturbances, prohibition of masking, violence against the police and aggravated theft were investigated, as well as some of the criminal offenses.

“Many good forces to lift too”

Miran Shwan also wants to draw attention to the good forces in the area who alerted the police and then helped with investigative material in the form of pictures and other advice.

– There are some people who destroy too many. It is not a general problem and there are also many good forces to lift. The adults who came out, many of whom called the police and guided us to the correct staircase and sent us tips and pictures. Adults are very important. It’s everyone’s job to react and not think it’s okay, he says.

The incidents will now continue to be investigated and Miran Shwan believes that those who attacked the police should be aware of this.

– I don’t think you really understand what risks there are and we try to communicate it. There is a risk of personal injury and serious crimes are committed. You should be aware that we will investigate these crimes, collect witness statements and carry out various investigative measures, we will work on day two.
