When Helena removed the bush, it bounced off the kitchen floor.
He is now part of the Death to Park Slide Facebook group and is attacking with glyphosate.
– It’s just a war, says Helena.
Two years ago, 52-year-old Helena Göransdotter bought her home in Borlänge and pulled something like a bamboo bush out of the kitchen.
– I started digging and I was surprised by the roots, it was a big lump. When I dug up the bush, there were soon a lot of sprouts, says Helena.
She had been affected by the invasive slide of the weed park, which can grow two decimeters a day. Helena read online that the best trick was to cover the park slide with ground cloth. But after a few days, it started to bubble under the cloth on the floor and Helena took it off.
– Then he had sunk a lot, and he also looked towards the kitchen, she says.

Parksliden invaded the kitchen through a pipe in the water-based element and entered between the baseboard and the wall. Helena sent special residents into the space below the house.
– There was also a collection of roots there, he says.
“The insurance company laughed when I called”
Helena called various authorities but received no help.
– I have been in contact with God and with everyone from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the county administrative board, the municipality and the insurance company to the gardeners. No one can help.
What did the insurance company say?
– They just laughed, they had never heard of the park slide. They said that “there is nothing in the insurance that means that we have to compensate you for this.”

Helena Göransdotter has trouble with the slide in her home plant park in Borlänge.
Ever since SVT Dalarna interviewed her, she has understood that the problems with the park’s slides are much greater in the UK.
– Some entrepreneurs have worked full time to combat the landslide of the park for 20 years. He has only seen two houses with a patterned dirt floor and one with clear cracks in the foundations where the park’s slides have entered. So it’s not common for him to enter houses, says Helena.
First, he tried to bring cabbage to the park slide with the pesticide raid. I do not help. Then he found an even stronger herbicide. Now you may have managed to beat the park slide.
– I joined the Facebook group Death to Park Slide. They told me that the only thing that works is glyphosate, says Helena.

May have defeated the park slide with glyphosate
Glyphosate can only be sold to farmers. Helena has had to buy some from a farmer. Since you sprayed the stumps in the garden two weeks ago, they haven’t grown any more.
– You get great information on the Internet. The council of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the county administrative board is so desperately friendly to the environment. I’m a large-scale environmentalist, but if it’s war, it is, says Helena.
Aftonbladet has previously interviewed Nils Carlsson, an invasive species expert with the Skåne County Board of Directors. Then he advised everyone who wanted to get rid of the slides in the park to take out the shovel.
– If you dig the roots, you irritate them. Then the park slide starts firing side shots.
It is also enough that a single 0.7 gram root fragment ends up in the garden, for the park slide to multiply. The plant has existed in Sweden since the 19th century, but it has been quite passive. The warmer weather has meant that it has started to spread across Sweden.
