Police published information about an armed robbery, which is still under investigation, on their reality series on social media.
The prosecutor in the case has not been informed that the crime occurred on reality TV, Swedish Radio reports.
– I thought it was a lot of details. “I have not been in a situation like this before,” says courtroom prosecutor Anna Broome to P4 Malmöhus.
The crime occurs in “Intervening Police”, a series that is broadcast on the Police’s Instagram account and that is being widely marketed in the country at the moment. This was the first report from P3 News. The series, where real crimes are filmed, is part of a campaign that will attract more people to apply for the police profession.
The robbery, which is still under investigation, took place in Helsingborg.
The courtroom prosecutor in the theft investigation, Anna Broome, did not learn that the crime would be included in the series before its publication. Now he will demand an explanation of why this was done, he tells P4 Malmöhus.
– Actually, I was surprised and quite surprised, and of course, I will demand an explanation of how to do it without contacting the leader of the preliminary investigation, Anna Broome tells the channel.
There is a risk that certain parts of the content of the reality series contain information that may be kept secret prior to the investigation. The function has now been removed.
