Covid-19 patients continue to increase in hospitals in the Västra Götaland region. On Tuesday morning, 288 people with covid-19 are treated, of which 32 in VAT.

It is for the Sahlgrenska University Hospital where the curve points up, according to the statistics of the last day. From Monday to Tuesday, the number of COVID-19 positive patients in the hospital has increased from 100 to 114.

Increase in all hospitals

But all other hospitals report an increase of between one and three patients.

Both NU healthcare and Sahlgrenska reach their highest rating yet during the second wave. The others, Södra Älvsborgs hospital, Skaraborgs hospital and Sjukhusen i Väster, had more hospitalized patients last week than now.

However, the total number of patients admitted to the intensive care unit has not increased. The number there, 32 people, is the same on Tuesday as it is on Monday.

Pressure on healthcare is mounting

With so many hospitalized patients, the burden on healthcare workers is high, the Västra Götaland region writes in a press release.

– Now it’s about everyone persevering, enduring and doing what they can together to reduce the spread of the infection, so that fewer people get so sick that they need hospital care, says Ann Söderström, director of health and medical care.
