There is a dark number
Testing has gradually increased in the region, although there are no statistics from last week’s testing yet. However, infection control physician Thomas Wahlberg noted last week that there is still a dark figure in terms of the number of infected.
– I think it’s difficult to base everything on the number of confirmed cases. We may not see the same steep rise in admissions either, but I don’t think it can be said that there is still a stable situation. It’s too early to tell, he said Thursday.

Many patients in hospitals
However, the situation in healthcare is tense, writes the Västra Götaland region in a press release.
The need for covid-19 care is at record levels at Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde and Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås.
At Sahlgrenska University Hospital, 85 patients with covid-19 are being treated on Tuesday morning. That was up to three weeks ago.
