The nice gesture of the young people: he offered a hundred hamburgers.

The second corona wave has ruthlessly swept the world and Sweden.

The country’s intensive care units are packed with patients and the staff fighting to save them are on their knees. Many people praise your efforts, but there are also those who take action to show their appreciation.

Nurse Sofie Pettersson and her colleagues at Karlstad Central Hospital realized this on Christmas night.

Sofie says:

– At midnight the bell rang and we went to open it. Outside were two boys in their 20s.

And they did not come empty-handed.

“So cute”

The young men had several bags of hamburgers, a total of one hundred.

– They told me that they have a relative that they are caring for corona, and that they sat at home and thought about how they could show their gratitude. Here’s how they came up with this idea with the burgers, says Sofie, who previously told NWT about the gift.

– We were very surprised, it was very nice. It feels good to receive that recognition, continue.

The young men brought a hundred hamburgers.

The nursing staff is tired

Sofie herself works in the pediatric emergency room, but often encounters colleagues who are forced to work hard to keep corona patients alive and their own noses above the surface of the water.

-There are many that are very worn, it shows in them. Many people are not allowed to take a single extra shift because they have already worked too many overtime hours. But everyone is working on it anyway, there is nothing to choose from, says Sofie.

Other than Sofie, there were no more than 20 people on duty at the hospital on Christmas Eve, so far from all the burgers.

– We don’t work that many nights. There was also plenty of food left over for the day staff.
