Janne Andersson was able to announce a game.

– Filip Helander is not going to Russia, he has an injury that he does not have time to heal.

The starting eleven in Thursday’s training match against Russia includes players who will likely not be relevant to the matches against Croatia in the Nations League on Sunday.

Kalle Johnsson – Emil Krafth, Sebastian Holmén, Carl Starfelt, Pierre Bengtsson – Sebastian Larsson (team captain), Gustav Svensson, Mattias Svanberg, Ken Sema – Jordan Larsson, Alexander Isak.

Jordan Larsson takes his place in attack.

– I think you can find good combinations with Alexander Isak, says Andersson. It is a partly new team, some that have been with others. We must help and support the new ones and I will take advantage of the changes, says Andersson.

The captain of the Swedish national team has no idea which team Russia will play for.

– We have to wait and see, says Andersson.

Sebastian Larsson was present at the press conference on Wednesday. He is by far the most experienced of the team against Russia.

– I who have been with for a long time must take responsibility and move on.

Currently, Larsson has strong competition from Dejan Kulusevski and Viktor Claesson when it comes to taking a place in matches of a more important nature than that of Russia.

– The important thing is what the management team thinks and what I think. It’s good that young players are pushing. I want to play all the time, now it’s a game tomorrow and I’ll play it.

Those playing against Russia will have a hard time getting a place against Croatia.

– Since I said that, Sebastian Andersson and Filip Helander have rescinded and we will have to wait to see what happens during tomorrow’s match if conditions change.

After two defeats they find Sweden at the bottom of Serie A in the Nations League.

– We are in Serie A and we play against the best, they are developing and they are good games. I probably didn’t think we would win this group. After two losses, it’s even harder to win, says Andersson.

Sweden has lost the first matches against world champions France and European champions Portugal.

– If you get hit in football matches, it hurts regardless of the opposition, says Sebastian Larsson.
