Recently, several crown outbreaks have been reported at universities across the country. At the University of Mälardalen in Västerås and Linköping University, among others, several students have been confirmed to be infected. In both cases, the parties are identified as the source of the outbreaks.
– Unfortunately, you are too many students who are not responsible and now we have to refine. We cannot make colleges and universities become groups of crown centers, says Matilda Ernkrans.
Outbreaks in eight regions
Johan Carlson, Director General of the Swedish Public Health Agency, also participated in the press conference. According to the authority, up to eight regions have reported outbreaks related to colleges or universities.
– So far, 200 students have been infected this fall and there is a very high risk of more, says Johan Carlson.
According to the University of Mälardalen, a total of 112 people have been infected with the coronavirus in connection with various student parties organized in Västerås.
