It was at the press conference on Friday before Saturday’s National League game against France that Emil Forsberg was asked about the women’s national team’s demand for equitable compensation for the women’s and men’s national teams.

Knight Emil Forsberg said from the podium at the press conference:
– We have been fighting for it for a long time. For me, it is obvious that it should be the same. We have had a meeting now during this meeting.
When asked if Kosovar Asllani will receive the same compensation as Emil Forsberg, the midfielder replied:
– I hope so. Like I said, we have always strived for it, we have had many meetings. Of course, we have sat down in the team and discussed this, we wanted it to be that way.

In a common statement on the association’s website, later on Friday, the men’s team players say:
“We are very aware of the difficult economic situation in which Swedish football finds itself. Players, leaders, associations and federations are fighting hard to overcome this ordeal that affects us all.” We want to participate and do what we can to improve a difficult situation; this is our contribution and we hope it can help ”.
The issue of compensation was raised after the Ombudsman’s Office acquitted the union of discrimination last week.
