34-year-old Mikael had SEK 40 left to live on when all the bills were paid.

A series of bad car purchases put him in dire straits. In the end, he got enough and requested the “Deluxe Trap”.

– I never ate at home but I had to eat at my sister’s, she says.

It all started when 34-year-old Mikael de Gävle borrowed money to buy his first car. A short time later, he broke up and got a new loan to buy a new one.

On TV3’s “Lyxfällan”, Mikael says that he has since done eleven car abuse based on his mountain of debt.

– I’ve been very unlucky with cars. The ones I’ve had have more or less broken after a few months, he tells Aftonbladet.

Loans eat up wages

Mikael has bought cars on credit without knowing the interest rates. When the show was recorded earlier this year, the debts were almost 430,000 SEK. Of these, SEK 129,000 was just interest.

Most of the salary went to paying bills and car loans, the rest was bought by cigarettes and snus.

– This month I have 40 SEK left and I received the salary last week, says Mikael on the show.

Food and pocket money from my sister

To survive each month, he has become completely dependent on his sister. She goes there and eats, buys lunch boxes, and sometimes borrows a hundred.

Another financial culprit has been Mikael’s inability to say no to his friends. Last year, it invested over SEK 13,000 in beer.

– Last summer, when I received the tax money, I offered a lot. Later I regretted it, he says in the program

The whole situation left him powerless and in the end he applied to the Deluxe Trap, a decision that he really does not regret.

– Today I feel much better and I am more alert and happier, says Mikael to Aftonbladet.
