It was at 7pm on Sunday afternoon when police were alerted to an address in Gamlestaden in Gothenburg.
Several witnesses said they had heard gunshots and when the police arrived at the scene they found a man wounded by a bullet who was later pronounced dead in hospital.
Prosecutors with transparency in the investigation describe the murder as “pure execution.”
Police on Sunday night launched a so-called special event.
After intensive overnight work, nine people were arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder, and one person suspected of aiding in the murder.
– I cannot analyze the aspect of the work, but we have received a lot of information from different directions. There were witnesses and we found a used car in the murder pretty quickly, says Peter Adlersson.
Whether or not the police have been monitoring arrested people before, Peter Adlersson does not want to enter. But they should all be well known to the police sooner.
Shot dead when leaving a party
It was when the man left a party in Gothenburg that he was shot dead. It was a birthday party, according to investigators who have transparency in the investigation.
The victim was completely unaware that the assassins were in ambush.
– The man was at a party or event when he was shot. He was shot when he left the event, more than I can’t answer, says Peter Adlersson.
Police also say that everyone involved, both the victim and those arrested, have links to gang crime.
Member of a family that has been in conflict.
The deceased man, according to GT information, is part of a family in Gothenburg that has previously been in conflict with Eddie Jobe.
Eddie Jobe has been a priority target for the police for many years.
He has been described in police investigations as a criminal “icon” who is at risk of leading youth to crime and who has played a key role in organized crime.
Eddie Jobe was sentenced to prison for 6.5 years in Superior Court after, according to the verdict, he prepared a murder for a member of the other family.
Jobe was arrested in January last year near a garage in Hisingen. An automatic weapon was found there and in the car was a cell phone that controlled a member of the victim’s family killed by a so-called GPS disk.
Jörgen Thorén, area chief of local police, previously told GT about the current case against Jobe:
– That case has been very important. So it is not about the person as such, but about eliminating the main actors. It also prevents new recruits. Strong leadership figures that young people admire are problematic. When you catch them, you show that it is not worth being extremely criminal.
