An area in the center of Jönköping was cordoned off Tuesday due to a suspected dangerous object in a parked car.
Accommodation in nearby apartment buildings was evacuated and the national bomb squad carried out two controlled detonations. At 8.30 pm the roadblocks were lifted and the police said there was no danger to the public.
A small area is still cordoned off for police investigation of the crime scene.
– Now we have been able to affirm that it has not been possible to fire it (the object) during the time that anti-aircraft protection has been here. But now we have to analyze it so that we know exactly what it is for. Now the titles are attempts at general destruction and manifestly illegal threats, but that can change in both directions during the course of the investigation, police spokesman Tommy Thorngren tells Jönköpings-Posten.
No one has been arrested, but several people have been questioned by the police. As for the criminal classification of manifestly illegal threats, there are two plaintiffs, Thorngren told the newspaper.
