The trapped man was left alone in the apartment with a bowl of potato chips and a can of mackerel.
A woman has been arrested and a map of the man’s life will be made.
– We will try to draw a map of the circumstances and the man’s life situation, says Emma Olsson, who is the prosecutor in the case.
28 years ago, the woman is said to have locked the door of the apartment in the Stockholm area. Inside was his son, who since that day was locked in the apartment, which Aftonbladet was able to reveal yesterday.
It was on Sunday that a relative met the man for the first time in more than two decades. According to information from Aftonbladet, the mother must have gone to the hospital a few weeks ago and left her son alone in the dark and dirty apartment.

Left with a bowl of chips
According to information from Aftonbladet, the man must have kept a can of mackerel, a crusty cheese sandwich, and a plate of potato chips to live.
A woman, according to information to Aftonbladet, the man’s mother, has now been arrested by prosecutors for probable cause.
– A person is suspected of causing serious injury and illness and illegal deprivation of liberty. It’s a title that can change during the investigation, says prosecutor Emma Olsson.
The woman is notified of the suspicions but she denies the crime.
Man’s life must be mapped
A decision on whether or not to arrest the woman has yet been made, but the investigation of the case is in full swing.
– What is happening now is that we will try to draw a map of man’s circumstances and life situation. The apartment is cordoned off pending a technical investigation, the prosecutor said.
A large number of witnesses and the suspected woman will also be heard.
Hospitalized
After they found the man, they took him to the hospital. According to information from Aftonbladet, he must have had injuries to large parts of his body, be severely malnourished, and have no teeth in his mouth.
– He had surgery. I don’t know anything else about his physical condition at this time, says prosecutor Emma Olsson.
Police say the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.
