According to Dagens industri, two camps have been created within the liberals. They want to continue on the same path as before, that is, to distance themselves from the Swedish democrats and keep their influence restricted.
The other wants to open up to all parties, including SD, if that means a greater opportunity for L to comply with his policy.
Now there are tough demands on the leader Nyamko Sambuni, Anna-Lena Johansson, among others, not to open up to the influence of the SD. He sits on the party board and chairs the L union in Stockholm County, and at Dagens industri he voices harsh criticism of inter-party collaboration.
“Designate the liberals as the main enemy”
– Jimmie Åkesson has previously designated the Liberals as his main enemy and a Liberal Party cannot cooperate with the Swedish Democrats in that way, he says and continues:
– We cannot cooperate with a party that has a completely different vision of, for example, the freedom of LGBTQ people, the independence of the media and the rights of women.
She is not the only one who believes that the party is at a crossroads. A source from Di has previously said:
– Regardless of the path we finally choose, there is a risk that several people will leave the party. But this has yet to be done.
When the Liberals freed Stefan Löfven as Prime Minister, Anna-Lena Johansson and her union in Stockholm were decisive and, according to Dagens Industri, she is also important in this decision. She herself says that “Stockholm cannot be ruled out in this matter, it is not possible.”
