First: “It felt fun to start a new life with this”

An athlete has never won the “Champion of Champions” until now.
Long running back Michel Tornéus took home the victory after a final raffle.
– It was not a joy, but I was very surprised, he says.
In the final of the “Masters of Champions” count Michel Tornéus, 33, who is proud of having reached the final and who has faced him both physically and mentally.

– It was fucking fun to win and it felt fun to start your new life with this. It was good to get rid of the identity crisis and that I could go on for two weeks was good. It was an honor to be able to win that because there are so many greats who have won the “champion of champions,” says Aftonbladet Nöje.

“I had to dig there”
During the “Championship Final”, Tornéus was behind finalist Hansdotter throughout the final, but would take it again.
– We started late and we were already quite tired. Once we saw the track, I felt that the first part would be even. The other obstacle was that balance and I’ve had some problems because of that. I also had bad tactics with numbers. I lost two and it took time. They had gotten stuck in the bags, so I had to dig there, he says.
“It can be more than explosive over shorter distances”
At the last hurdle, Michel Tornéus believes that Hansdotter was stressed about catching up. And a few minutes later he became the historical champion of the program.
– It feels fucking fun, it’s great. Especially considering how tough the resistance was, it was fun taking her home. He needed an athlete, we can do more than be explosive over shorter distances, he says.
What does profit mean?
– I think it means a lot. It is fun to watch. Last year we endured our strongest letter in Carro (Carolina gap), she came in second. So now it was fun to get last place, we had silver and now we have gold.
How did you feel when you win?
I was in shock. As soon as I got something from myself, it was a lot at once. I didn’t realize I had won.

“I really have to fight”
In the past, Michel Tornéus has been criticized for coming directly from the Athletics Championship to the recording of the “Champion of Champions” and that would be an advantage. But he does not agree with this.
– If you look at all the episodes that have been, I have not mastered once. If I had the advantage now of getting out of the season, I would have won more than once and not been in the middle. I have really struggled. I am never at the top, for example, in the resistance branches.
Could it be a disadvantage that you are out of season?
– It has been. I have zero skirts on me. I can never compete when it is static or sustainable. I’ve only been good when it’s been short and explosive.
