The gun collector’s daughter was in the same theater as Palme

The so-called Skandiaman Stig Engström was singled out as a probable perpetrator by Palme investigators in June.

One of Stig Engström’s close friends and neighbors in Täby was the so-called weapons collector, and suspicions have been expressed that Engström would have had access to a weapon, the murder weapon, from his weapons collection.

Now, Aktuellt Fokus reveals that the weapons collector’s daughter, then 16 years old, was in the same role in the big Sveavägen cinema in Stockholm as the Palme couple. The night of the murder, February 28, 1986.

– From what I could read during the interrogation, the Palme investigators reacted very strongly to this information. That’s why they called her for a new interrogation, she says.

Also the other close daughter

Another daughter of the weapons collector had previously told Expressen that both she and her father were in central Stockholm on the night of the murder. They were at a party with Dad’s business contacts at the Bacchi Vapen restaurant. The mother was also present.

The restaurant is located 1.7 kilometers from the crime scene in Sveavägen.

– So we were together, mom, dad and I plus a friend of mine. We were in the same place in town along with many many more, that daughter told Expressen.

The daughter told Expressen that she and her friend left the event overnight. He was on a bus when news of Palme’s death was announced, he said.

I didn’t know that Palme was there

During police questioning in 2018, the other daughter, whose visit to the cinema is revealed by Aktuellt Fokus, said she did not know that the Prime Minister and his wife were in the same movie show. The partner shouldn’t have known either. They only got the information about Palme afterward, the woman says.
