The government has previously announced that the allocation until 2025 will increase to 4.2 billion to strengthen defense.

Establish a new authority
On Wednesday, Mikael Damberg introduced the total defense bill that will be presented on Thursday.
The proposal is that the objective should be that the civil defense together with the army can handle a security policy crisis in Europe and in the immediate area of Sweden for at least three months.
The idea is that Sweden can endure on its own until international aid arrives.
“Sweden’s ability to handle increased preparation and ultimately the war must be strengthened on a broad front,” says Mikael Damberg.
Examples of measures in the coming years are a national cybersecurity center that will open this year and a psychological defense authority that will be established in 2022.
