For much of the 1970s, they were colleagues at the Gothenburg City Theater.
“It cannot be expressed in words”
Four years ago, they met again on stage after 40 years on a set of “Romeo & Julia”. The performance went on tour and performed at the Stadsteatern in Stockholm, among other venues.
Sven was my friend, father of Lina, our daughter. The lack within the family cannot be expressed in words, ”Evabritt Strandberg writes in a text message.
“Above all, I want to highlight him as a family man and friend. Life becomes much more difficult without him. “
Called from the hospital
Sven Wollter and his wife Lisa Wede, 69, lived a sheltered life to avoid the coronavirus.
When he toured with the rock band Nynningen in the fall, it was with restrictions.
Band member Nikke Ström, 69, met her friend when they played together in Stockholm in October.
– He called me from the hospital a week ago, he says.
Nikke Ström describes Sven Wollter as a “good friend”.
– We had a lot in common, both musically and politically. We’ve known each other since the mid-70s. We’ve done a lot together over the years.
– He was a great and friendly soul who cared for his fellow men.
“A true teacher”
Sven Wollter was in the 2017 movie “Solsidan”. He played Mauritz, father of Johan Rheborg’s character Fredde. Other actors include Mia Skäringer, Henrik Dorsin, and Josephine Bornebusch.
Director and actor Felix Herngren, 53, expresses his loss and gratitude on Instagram.
“Thank you for all the time that I was able to work with you. You were the best. The eyes said it all, you made scenes shine with so few means. A true teacher. “
Actor Christopher Wollter, whose grandfather is Sven Wollter’s brother, describes Sven as a true inspiration.
“Even though he could yell and had sharp opinions, he was always kind at heart. He stood up for clarity and made you feel safe with him. Because his professional life spans several generations and has influenced so many, he became something of a grandfather to the theater. Not just for us in the industry, but for the entire Swedish people, “he writes to Expressen.
Sven Wollter turned 86 years old.
