Five people were killed in the assault on the United States Congress on January 6 of this year. Hundreds of people had gathered on the lawn in front of the Capitol, including members of the far-right group Proud Boys in orange hats, before crashing into the building hailed by outgoing President Donald Trump.
The police have intervened so far 135 people in connection with the riots and the first charges have now been brought. There are two men, 31 and 43, who according to the indictment are members of the far-right group Proud Boys.
The men are suspected, among other things, of conspiring, obstructing and complicating the work of the police, violent riots, theft and vandalism of state property. As evidence, the prosecutor refers to a film that was broadcast on social networks where one of the men is seen breaking a window to enter the congress.
Police have also found manuals on how to build bombs in one of the defendants’ houses.
However, the search for the person or persons who planted two tube bombs at the party headquarters the night before the storm continues. The explosive charges, which later turned out to be sharp, were discovered only minutes apart, around the same time that the mob forced the first barricades on the Capitol.
The federal police The FBI has repeatedly asked the public for advice on finding the person or persons who may be behind to no avail. Now the FBI has launched a new search urging everyone with information to get in touch. Additionally, the reward has been increased from $ 75,000 to $ 100,000.
