The first doses of vaccine have arrived in Gothenburg

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven began Sunday with a speech to the nation on the government website, due to the start of vaccination.

“2020 has been a year of testing. The corona virus has affected us as a country and as humans. A light in this darkness is the vaccine,” Stefan Löfven says in the speech.

In some other countries, politicians or celebrities have become the first to get vaccinated. But during the morning, Gunn-Britt Johnsson at the Boken nursing home in Mjölby became the first Swede to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Sunday, the vaccination will also start in Västra Götaland. In Gothenburg, residents of the Svaleboskogen, Högsbotorpshemmet, Kaverös äng and Gerdas gård nursing homes are the first to leave. Unlike other regions, the media has not been allowed to be on site and report on the first vaccinations.
