The double murderer’s brother: “He has never shown violent tendencies”

The brother has been interrogated three times and then he has been told in detail what he knows about the double murder and how he feels his brother is as a person.

In the first interrogation, which will take place at 8 am on June 9, the brother will be heard because his own DNA profile matches the DNA profile of the assailant. He explains that he remembers that he himself was at work when he heard the news of the murders in Åsgatan.

In 2004, Daniel Nyqvist was living at home with his parents, he himself had moved from home.

From the first interrogation record:

Questioner Jan Staaf (JS): Could Daniel have committed this stabbing?

– Never.

JS: Why not then?

– Because he’s so nice. He has never shown violent tendencies.

JS: If it turns out that it was your brother who committed the crimes, what did he have to do with Åsgatan?

– I don’t think my brother knows Åsgatan. We have nothing to do with that area.

Family in shock

The brother says in the second police questioning that “he has been in a form of shock since the news” that his brother Daniel was a suspect in the double murder. When he found out about the matching DNA, he despaired.

The brother again describes Daniel as calm, kind and loving:
“I can’t understand this, I’ve known his brother my whole life and I hardly ever saw him angry.”

Since then, the family members have felt very bad and receive help for this.
