The dogs that move with Joe Biden to the White House

2008-2016, the Obama family’s Portuguese water dog, Bo, lived in the White House.

But during Donald Trump’s tenure in office, no pets have lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington.

However, that will change when Joe and Jill Biden move in on January 20 of next year. The couple take their two German Shepherds Champ and Major with them. The Biden couple bought Champ from a breeder in 2008, but adopted Major in the fall of 2018.

Therefore, Major will be the first rescue dog to move into the White House.

Both Champ and Major have frequently appeared on Joe Biden’s social media during the campaign, resulting in the 78-year-old Biden becoming the next president of the United States.
