The public was warned after a biogas discharge at a bus station in Örebro on Wednesday afternoon.

– It is the biogas that powers Örebro’s city buses that have leaked. Gas is highly flammable. The slightest spark can ignite the surroundings, therefore we have blocked an area of 300 square meters, said Kjell Haglund in the Nerike fire brigade at the time.

A supposedly important message was spread to the public. But after an hour or so, the leak could be stopped.

– It took a while before the rescue service could get close to this gas, but once they were able to, they were able to stop the leak immediately, says Karolina Wrede in the Bergslagen rescue region.

At 5:00 p.m. the danger dissipated.
