The demand for holiday homes in Sweden has increased in recent years and although it is too early to statistically declare that the crown crisis is blocking it, Amanda Dahlgren is convinced that this is the case.
She observes how speculators in houses in, for example, Spain, do not expect it to be as easy as before to get there in the coming years. Then they start looking for houses in Sweden.
And to speculators Amanda Dahlgren has some solid advice.
The first is to decide what type of vacation home you are interested in as a buyer. A simple cabin for the accommodation of some summer weeks may not need the usual comforts.
– But if you want to use it year-round, it may need to be better insulated and municipal and wastewater (VA) drains removed, says Dahlgren.

Another important thing to think about beforehand is the travel time to the cabin.
– If the house is further away, you will probably be there fewer times, says Dahlgren.
– Many people do not look at a specific place, but they look at a radius of 10–15 km from their home, then they look at many cities within that radius.
Just like when you buy of permanent housing, it is important to have a budget and stick to it. And as with the permanent home, the price is affected by location, size, and standard. But there is also something else to do with vacation homes.
– As close to the lake as to the sea. And so, if there is municipal water and sewerage. Vacation homes that have it are generally priced slightly higher than if there is only a dry toilet or a combustion toilet.
Going to many shows is another tip. This means that you will know the local market and your preferences during the trip may change.
