The combination of drugs can cure covid

The drug remdesivir was originally developed against the Ebola virus. Today, it is already used to some extent in Sweden to shorten the course of the disease in corona patients.

So now there are several researchers who have tried combining strap derivatives together with a substance that is not yet approved, which has shown a good effect.

The combination was shown to inhibit the spread of the virus and reduce the amount of virus, which may mean that corona patients can recover faster, according to results published in the journal EMBO Molecular Medicine.

The next phase is very expensive

The substance, which has not yet been approved, is now undergoing a phase 2 study in which it has been tested in 200 corona patients, writes SvD.

Before approval, a large-scale study is required which is very expensive to conduct.

However, this week it became clear that the WHO is removing belt derivatives from the list of recommended treatments for COVID-19, as they have not been shown to lead to a reduction in mortality.

Until now, the drug is still used in Sweden, as the drug is still considered to shorten the hospital stay of patients on oxygen therapy.
