Shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, the rescue service was alerted to an accident on Highway 40 outside Bollebygd.
– A car went off the road and ended up on the roof. Everyone must have gotten out of the car in their own machine, says Bo Sandström, internal commander of the rescue service.
According to SOS Alarm, five people were involved in the accident.
The accident must have taken place between Kullamotet and Grönkullamotet in the direction of Borås.
– There is limited traffic on the site. But it is possible to pass at reduced speed, said Bo Sandström, at 8 p.m. on Saturday night.
Police: slippery on the roads
According to police information, the car must have had a cordon when it was in the passing lane. Duty Officer Martin Hallberg cannot answer whether the slip was behind the accident, but says that in some places there are slips on the roads.
– It’s been cold outside and with a little rain on the roads, it can be treacherous, he says.
The police have prepared a report of a traffic accident without suspicion of crime.
Three rescue vehicles and three ambulances were at the scene overnight.
Five to the hospital
At 9:00 p.m., the rescue service was able to announce that they had left the place and that the road was fully passable again.
– When we left, the car was still on the roof next to the road. It should be marked with barrier tape so you can see that it has been taken care of, says Bo Sandström.
According to the police, all the people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital for control.
– They were very shocked, says Martin Hallberg.
