Skåne’s top regional politicians advise Skåne residents not to go to Denmark.
On social media, regional councilor Carl Johan Sonesson (M) comes out with his own recommendations, which go beyond the authorities.
“I urge all Scanians to look forward to leisure travel to Denmark,” writes Carl Johan Sonesson on his Facebook page.
Carl Johan Sonesson (M), chairman of the regional board in Skåne, came out on social media last Friday with a call to the people of Skåne: don’t go to Denmark and avoid Stockholm. He describes the situation in Skåne as under control, but that the R-value, the number of people each infected person infects on average, is still too high. Therefore, the regional council decided to come out with its own recommendations for the people of Skåne.
“In Stockholm, I see worrying trends. Stockholm’s estimated R-value is 1.46 for the period September 9-16. It is high and I think there are reasons to be restrictive now with their trips to Stockholm, ”writes the regional council on its Facebook page.
Aftonbladet reported today that the spread of the infection appears to be increasing again in Stockholm. At a press conference Tuesday morning, Stockholm region health and medical director Björn Eriksson said the downward trend in the region has been broken.
– We are climbing again. One can only hope that this is a notch in the curve, that we reduce the spread of infection again. It depends on how we follow the recommendations of the Swedish Public Health Agency. If it continues to rise, we will soon be in a serious situation again, Björn Eriksson said during the press conference.

Carl Johan Sonesson goes on to describe the situation in Denmark, where the spread of the infection has again accelerated. However, the border will not be closed in the same way as earlier this year to prevent the spread of the infection.
“I hope now the Danes are waiting too long to go to Sweden, as long as the infection is as high as it is now.” And I urge all Scanians to look forward to leisure travel to Denmark, ”writes Carl Johan Sonesson.
However, he believes that the border should be kept open and stresses that it is tourists he wants people to avoid and that it does not apply to commuting to work.
On Friday, Denmark introduced new rules as a result of the further spread of the infection. Among other things, all bars and restaurants now close by 10pm every night, and the crowd limit has been lowered from 100 to 50 and those who can be asked to work from home.
– We are at too high a level. At the same time, we see that the infection is spreading throughout the country and in various groups of the population. Among other things, among health personnel. At least it’s serious, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said during a news conference on Friday.
On Tuesday, 476 new cases of covid-19 were reported in Denmark.
