Previously, the astra vaccine was only administered to adults under 65 years of age, as there was insufficient data to demonstrate the protective effect in the elderly. But the Public Health Agency now has enough information to do a new assessment.
Another 13 deaths with confirmed covid-19 have been reported in Sweden, announces the Public Health Agency.
As a result, 12,977 infected people have died in the country.
A total of 680,130 people in Sweden have been confirmed to be infected with covid-19.
To date, 853,209 people have received at least one dose of the corona vaccine, the authority reports. This corresponds to 6.9 percent of the adult population. Of these, 285,178 people have received two doses, which corresponds to 3.5 percent of the population.
New deaths in the authority’s statistics have occurred in most cases several days earlier, and deaths that have occurred in the near future are not included due to reporting delays. This means that the daily update shows the reported death rates, not the death rate for that particular day.
