The ambulance was unable to reach Ulrika, 50, who was seriously ill

In early August this year, Ulrika Lennartsdotter, 50, became ill when her appendix ruptured.

She was hospitalized and operated. Once at home, she became seriously ill again after a couple of days and, after consulting 1177, called 112.

The operator asked him for the door code to the apartment building in Varberg where he lives, but there is none, something Hallands Nyheter previously reported on.

– Then the operator asked “Well, how do we get in then?”, Says Ulrika.

The operator asked if Ulrika could drop her keys, but in the state she was in she couldn’t find them or go downstairs herself.

– I live in a ground floor apartment with a staircase inside the apartment, I was able to go down it and out there in the attic hall was a former student of mine who lives here who I asked for help.

Had severe sepsis

A neighbor who was smoking at night could make sure that the ambulance staff reached Ulrika.

Once in the hospital, it turned out that Ulrika Lennartsdotter had suffered severe blood poisoning and her intestines were about to stop working.

There was a new operation and another twelve days in the hospital. He is now home again and is trying to recover from the extensive infection and surgery.

She questions Varbergs Bostad about what happened and the consequences it may have had and could affect someone else.

– They replied that they would bring it up in the next meeting, it may take time until the next meeting. There are many apartments here and it could happen to someone else, maybe already tonight. I always thought it was okay here before, it has been fixed and cheated a lot, he says.

“I got seriously ill”

He also thinks that the response of the municipal housing company has much more to be desired.

– My neighbor called Varbergs Bostad and they told him that “if you are so sick, maybe you shouldn’t live there.” But I’m not sick, I got acutely ill but this could have happened to anyone, and now it happened to me, she says.

GT has applied to Anne Sjösten, director of the housing administration of Varbergs Bostad. For Hallands Nyheter, she says that it is not relevant to change the locks in the direction.

– We have very close contact with the rescue service and the ambulance staff can contact them if necessary to force the door. They have said that it is almost never a problem because many times there is someone who can help open the door.

Kenth Ahlin is the ambulance’s director of operations. To Hallands Nyheter he says:

– Regarding the rescue service, we have an agreement in Halland and thus we have access to their unique equipment to take us to different locations / spaces to carry out our mission.
