Actor Sven Wollter turned 86. He fell asleep surrounded by his immediate family at Sunderby Hospital in Luleå on November 10.
“He ended up painlessly surrounded by all his loved ones,” his daughter Stina Wollter wrote on Instagram.
“Very strong options”
Karl Seldahl now tells “Kulturnytt” on P1 that the family received many questions about why Sven Wollter traveled to Stockholm amid the current corona pandemic.
– It has been hard to start our grieving work. Much of what this worker was, says the son on the radio and continues:
– He made very important decisions in his life. And if it was work, we were used to not being able to stop him in that decision, once he had decided to participate in something.
Lived in isolation
Sven Wollter took crown bud seriously. Together with his wife Lisa Wede, he lived isolated in Luleå or in the summer cottage in Bohuslän.
He belonged to the risk group in terms of age but also because he suffered from carbon monoxide and lung problems. That after the summer he went to Stockholm to live with his son and his family has surprised many.
The reason was the filming of a new season of the television series “The Brokers”.
– We all talked to him and he listened. Then we finally learned that he was still making his own decisions and was unstoppable, so to speak, says Karl Seldahl on the radio.
Sven Wollter also toured with rock band Nynningen in the fall.
Has hindered the grieving process
Karl Seldahl explains that many of the questions the family received were about whether family members had symptoms of illness when they met Sven Wollter in Stockholm.
– It has prevented us, so to speak, from starting a grieving process because it is obvious that we did not have it. We would never have opened the door if we had had a trace of symptoms, says the son on the radio.
– So it feels important to give the piece of the puzzle that dad really chose to be on a recording and that was his love for his work. And we let him live here and we didn’t have any symptoms. We don’t know how it got infected and we will never know.
“Much poorer without him”
Colleagues from the world of theater and film have mourned Sven Wollter in recent weeks.
Actress Evabritt Strandberg, 77, was in a relationship with him in the 1960s and they had a daughter, Lina Wollter.
“Sven was my friend, father of Lina, our daughter. The lack of family cannot be expressed in words. Above all, I want to highlight him as a family man and friend. Life becomes much poorer without him, “he wrote to Expressen shortly after his death.
